More Minecraft

Ahoy ahoy everone who it may concern!

So, me and my two friends who play Minecraft have had this thought of starting a SMP server running on Normal/Hard and doing some proper team "RP" Surviving (death=lose all items etc). Now of course anyone who would like to participate would be very welcome

For this of course we need a server. I dont knw what the current status of THN MC server is, but we´d ideally like to do it on another world without all the cool things people bilt out there.

So! I would like to ask if we could get another Mc server up/ replaxce the current one with a new world save and settings. Also, as someone has to take care of this project, if it were to be realized I would be happy if someone tutored me a bit on handling the promethius minecraft thingy so that I can admin it

Please get back to me on how would this be possible I was thinking perhaps Trax could teach me a thing or two as I remember him being the last MC admit.

Ah, I guess I haven't posted to the general populace of THN

The THN minecraft server is running fine now. The world that "THN Fort" was created on has been archived and we are now running an explicitly SMP (RP) server.

We will be looking at PW protecting the server but currently that requires a mod. to connect promethius.thehavennet.org.uk or it's IP address.

Ah, neat-o! I shall grab you to have a talk once we´re both on Steam Also, is there a specific thread/subforum to discuss the server status, players´ plans etc on?

There's the Game Administration sub forum but that's reserved for the technical management of game servers and those who are actively involved in that.

Feel free to fire up a thread or three in Game Chat. If it gets a lot of momentum/threads then I'll look at a dedicated sub-forum.

Or, we can just get 4 people to join a new (I'll probably do it in a moment) Community group for Minecraft! and then turn it into a sub-forum rather than bboard
