After a rather poor decision to buy some music off of itunes, I'm now left with the most fucking uselessly "organized" music folder I've ever seen. I've lost the specific structure I had, obviously, but does anyone have any experience with a program that would move stuff around based on some parameters so I can at least restore some semblance of sanity to the whole thing?

Ahh the "let iTunes organise mymusic folder" button. I've had some issues with this before, but I now have a rather acceptable orgnisation through iTunes. Alot of problems seem to come from iTunes following the ID3 tag specifications rather more rigidly than most. I suspect from the chat box you require the "Compilation" flag. Set this on all your mixed artist albums and it wil neatly file them all away in the "compilations" folder. Somewhat like Various Artists of old.

Failing that, I believe Musicbrainz clients used to have this functionality

Someone transfer this to D, please:

Buying music from itunes is both a blessing, and a curse, you more or less NEED to backup said music / apps / whatever, since if your computer crashes (And your harddrive wipes, for whatever reason) 'cause it will cost you to get them back (Unless I'm missing a "Give me my damn music back!" button..)
