My Parents Got Scammed!

Long story short they bought a camera which was hailed as one of the best cameras on the market! From what I can tell it's not that bad, it takes good quality photos but we don't know anything about it. They spent 200 euros on it and we want to know if it's covered by gurantee.

Now..

  • What is it?

We don't know.. We know it's a Fujian Ne-ssey and that's it. The man said it was a Fuji, which it isn't as we found out when they came back and we looked it up.
  • What's the matter?

Is it covered by gurantee? If this packs it in when we go back can we do anything? The camera does not have a CE stamp on it.
  • What can I use to help me?

This. Also if you google "Fujian Digital Video Cameras" you get a good few links. I'd do it but ctrl + c has borked.
  • Why?

'cuz you love me :). WHAT?! Not enough?! Fine! Rep! Lots of it!
  • When?

Preferably by tomorow, Saturday at the latest because that's when we leave!

Muchos lovage!

Okay, a few things needs clearing up:

1) Is it a camera or a video camera?

2) Did it not come in a box? With a leaflet etc?

3) Generally more info would be nice.

From what I can see on the forums I've looked in, it does look like they've been scammed. Some people seems to like it (if it's a camera that is, I haven't found anything on video cams), but the most seem somewhat less happy with it. Make sure you back up the drivers on the CD, because it looks like they're hard to come by.

It also seems there's a whole industry on the canaries in conning tourists into buying fake-brand digital equipment.

CBA to edit, but it seems Fujian Ne-ssay is a brand for lots of things, mp3 players and car dvd players etc.

I don't think there's any warranty...

My mum shouted at him. We got a JVC camcorder which is really good quality! Crisis averted. :)
