I've been signed up for quite some time, but I've never actually played the game. I found it through another game by the same folks (Shot Online, a golf mmo) and one of the guys who played that with me went on to play navy field as well. I just never got around to it, perhaps I'll find some time now.
okay, first thoughts: it looks nice and surely has potential. steep learning curve though...
so far my problems are: took me while to realise I more or less _had_ to do the first mission over and over and over and over again. Once I did that and got the second ship, I cannot figure out how to fire my torpedoes.. do I need to get a non-auto fcs? does anyone know? Let's try to get a game together sometime, could be fun to sink each other a bit

no you don't get any experience from that mission, you need to do the "go to the red square" - "kill the standstill dummy" - "kill the two moving dummies" mission over and over again. Still, it's not as tedious anymore since I switched to the "aiming" FCS. I recommend you do too you get it by clicking the "mission" flags on land by the starting harbour.

How did you get the aiming FCS? I've got my first Destroyer, but I still can't get an aiming FCS, just auto...
I've stopped doing the training missions and I've been fighting mini battles in thew newbie waters. They're much more fun, though pretty darned difficult.

Yeah, I tried selling my old FCS. Last time I tried all I could buy back was a new auto FCS... I'll check it out again.
