[Tech] Need some technical help

I've just bought this new hard drive but I can't seem to get Windows to recognise it.

I've checked the BIOS which is recognising it and within Windows it came up with a message about new software being installed but when I look under "Computer" the only hard drive listed is my old one. The intention is for the new drive to contain all of my data and the original drive to just be used for the O/S and any data that absolutely has to be on the C: drive.

Further details:
Windows 7
DFi Lanparty Mobo (self built system)
Original hard drive 250Gb Western Digital SATA drive.
Let me know if there's anything else I need to list.

Any ideas?

New drives come without any File System on them, you need to have formatted the drive before it will show up in My Computer.

If you've done this already, how does the drive show up in the Disk Management section as noted in that article?

I don't know if this is relevant, but does your board actually support SATA 6Gbps?
