New guild setup

Thought for player system:

A private Gryphonheart Reputation, or something very similar, to keep track of people that have helped out the guild. However this would have to be set as 'private' and auto join turned off to stop others we wish not to see the rep standing to get too immersed in the system.

Other than that... no idea xD

Ahey, :)

Regarding the structure, I like it, in general. If you recall, when you were working on the structure we have now, I was the vocal guy against rank over-proliferation. However, in this new model, even though there are a lot more ranks, they actually make a lot more sense, or at elast, they do to me. :) Thus, I like.

The one comment I would make is that the Class Master rank feels like a bit of overkill to me, but I'd have to see it at work to actually render intellignet opinions on it...

A question about the mods, though. I have CTRA installed, but eventually, I just disabled, since, upgraded as it may be, it is still worse than the basic Blizzard raid interface. As such, I'd like to ask what it is that CTRA and/or oRA2 bring to the party. In your opinion, what is it that you can do with them that you cannot do without them?

That's it for now. :)

Cheers,
J.

Gryphonheart is still too clunky, and at its core, it really is set up for RP and should be kept for RP. Decent enough suggestion, but not a stable enough mod.

As I understand it, CTRA is still problematic, and I dropped it in favour of the (in my opinion) superior oRA2 a long while back. The main things it offers (and this is important for all) are the ability to assign "MT targets", and the way it works in unison with the new Omen to allow the "Healer Mode" threat dispaly to work. Besides that it also works as a platform for further raid plugins if you desire; I haven't personally looked into them, but I imagine there's likely some shininess around. Anyhoo, the MT Target support and that fact that it makes Omen work better are reason enough alone.

Oh, and oRA2 doesn't look as bad as CTRA did, so that's another bonus ;)

Looks good to me :)

Yay for being Warlock class master!

And only having one warlock in the guild to be master of! (me)

:D

Aye, something I didn't mention yet; when we're certain that everything is finalised (it's pretty certain stuff now, small details need to be fiddled at most), we're opening up the Class Master positions to anyone who is 70, is up for it, and is up to it. I already have ideas in mind for who'll likely end up in each position, apart from shaman... look at our guild list and 'nuff said.

A few small details not properly established on the wiki:

You can be a Class Master whilst being a higher rank (co-ordinator/guild master; for example, I'll likely end up as the Mage class master, but I'm sure as hell not demoting myself just for that :P )

PvP is supported, but guild bank resources will NOT be given for low-level twinking; if you want to do that, do it on your own funds and means, unless you're willing to properly pay for whatever you want from the bank.

There will be more than one application template; one for the lower-level people that wish to join, and one for the people wanting to jump straight in to the raiding-level stuff; mostly, it'll be a little extra bit detailing attunements and gear.

Omen, DeadlyBossMods and oRA2 (or compatible) and Teamspeak will be mandatory for raids, no usual exceptions (common sense applied, of course).

Think that's it... scatterbrained as I can be, there's possibly summat else I forgot whilst typing...

With regard to Deadly Boss mods, is that stable after 2.4 yet? I noticed last night that it isnt on wowace.com and therefore not on the updater... is there a different updater application for it? I now do not like having to manually update mods tbh - means i get the latest versions done for me :)

It's never been on WoWAce or the updater, and it's not been on the UI Central updater either (so far as I know... and not that it matters, now that UIC has been permanently pulled). You have to go direct to the site, http://www.deadlybossmods.com/ , and download it from there. Some parts are still a little bugged, the most serious one for us being the Storm timers on Akil'zon in Zul'aman, but we adapted and downed him (when a certain mage from a certain raid killed stopped being so highly tubular). How well it works is now variable, if you have the absolute latest version.

Oh, and I've heard a couple of people in game saying they weren't going to get DeadlyBossMods because "the raid leaders can have it on announce and say over TS". Not good enough. Have to have the mod so you have the timer bars yourself, it is that important, even if it is bugged some of the time.

Made a few changes to the Wiki entry; namely dropping PvPer as a rank. People can PvP if they want to, but there won't be a dedicated rank for it. You will, however, be allowed to request guild-bank resources to help you PvP if you wish, but raiding and general PvE progression always take priority.

I'll be changing the ranks to the system listed on the Wiki later today.

Class masters:

Rogue - Sabot
Hunter - Zhinrak
Paladin - Tuldur
Mage - Me
Warrior - Kershan
Druid - Rumproast
Warlock - Qantaqa
Shaman - Not yet chosen (Huung possibly, if he gets raid experience)
Priest - Not yet chosen, although Elauria is welcome to the position if he wants it

If there are any problems with this, streak now or forever hold your piece.

Oh, and you can be a Class Master whilst being a Coordinator (or in my case, guild master)

Might I also suggest we come up with some requirements for depositing money to the guild bank? I have only ever used money from the GB for repairs after a raid - I have seen many more people using it for repairs outside of raids and therefore depleting the funds.

I think we need to have a system where you are required to make a minimum donation (a small amount, say, 25G/week) or something which can be used by raiders for repairs. Obviously some raiders will need this more (cloth ftw) but I think it will be useful.

I'm going to cut off the repairs soon, and anyone who suffers serious repair issues from a raid can request money from the bank to compensate later. It's the only thnig that'll work, since the repairs thing is too inflexible.

The only time I took money from the guild bank was 50g to help fund for my eternium rod, which I replaced 4 hours later.

Think it all sounds good. Guild bank donations sound a good idea 2 help whoever needs out. After all, whats 25G now you can do 20+ dailys!:)

Hi Evry1

I must say that i am quite impressed with the new guild ranking and setup, here and there a few things to get used to.

A Suggestion from my side: Put all Main, Upcoming(say evry1 wanting to raid, lvl 60 and up and via Raid Guild Request forms) & Raiding Guild Members in A Seperate MAIN guild... All other members in a "Trial" Guild?

This is jst sumthing that iv though of:S
