NEW THN Blood Bowl league

So, it's been a while.

I'm gauging the level of interest for a friendly, fun, probably short blood bowl league.

We'd probably be looking at a game a week, around 6-8 players or so, keeping the season fairly short and manageble.

Although Chaos Edition is out (and supposedly cross compatible) we'd probably run on Legendary Edition, as I think that's what everyone on THN has.

Non competitive, turn based, 4 minute turns etc as in previous leagues.

Players of any ability very welcome, though more highly competent coaches should be aware this is not a cut throat situation, and urged to take unconventional builds of teams, or less optimal sides in general (I, for example, would probably take vamps, or ogres or goblins or something).

Coupla questions:

Would the aim to be to use start-up (~TV1000) teams?

Roughly when would we be starting?

Both of those things can be flexible, to suit.

I don't see a problem with new teams, but if people want to use more skilled teams, friendlies before the league starts would be fine.

I'll attempt it, not sure on what hours I'll have as Work is very dynamic in that regard ;)

I guess I'm in the same sort of position as Trax in that work has a pretty heavy impact on when I can play. Let's say I'll play and see how we do.

2 Stormvermin, 2 Throwers, 4 Gutterunners, 4 Linesmen, 2 re-rolls

Never been much of a fan of the big guys so I'm going to try to play without.

Interesting choice. These days I feel the rat ogre is a turnover machine, and really struggled when I messed around with skaven last.

I feel you're a little re-roll light, but you have all the key position players and a sub at least. You'll probably want an apothecary asap to protect the stormvermin.

While you have only 2 RRs you have plenty of ball handling skills, so with a conservative gameplan, you should be all right.

I'm pretty torn about skaven these days. I don't really know how I'd build a starting team. I'd probably be tempted for a 6 linerat, 2 stormvermin, 4 GR 3RR roster. Sub to start with, a bit left for the apothecary and 3 rerolls. Then again, I generally feel the GRs can do the ball handling and the thrower's not really necessary.

Don't forget that I also like to air the ball on occasion, but without at least a Pass skill that's pretty much game-suicide. I'll probably target a third re-roll first, then apothecary... though it's a difficult team to keep alive.

If you need numbers then i'm happy to join in. And i will happily play a tier 2 or tier 3 team. I've got Chaos Edition which is indeed compatable with Legendary, so could i play as an Underworld team in this league? The prospect of Goblins and Skaven with mutations excited me to no end! If your not keen on that, then i can bring back my Flings from a previous THN league (tv around 1200 i think), or go for a rookie Goblin/Ogre team. Let me know what you prefer and if you need me to make up the numbers or not.

Jim.

Narly, an underworld team would be fine. You and I are significantly more experienced than much of THN, so a self imposed handicap is exactly what the apothecary ordered I think.
