New unlocks on log-in

Just to let you all know, I just logged in to BF2 and was awarded with 2 new unlocks. I have not been promoted recently, so I assume it has something to do with the upcoming patch, but there didn't appear to be any new info on the patch on EA's website so I can't confirm that.

Still, it may be worth keeping an eye out.

Yeah, over at TBF2 it's been said that they're released now so that you can unlock the new guns on patch release.

Woops, I spent one of my unlocks, but then again I had neither the Barett or the DAO 12 :p

Ahh well, I'll rank up soon "cough"

Im not really bothered to be honest, im going up a rank soon and I dont use the unlocks much (especially those special forces ones, for NOOBS! :mad: )

I generally dont bother with the unlocks unless some guy is being a total n00b and annoying the crap outa me... then i get the M95 out and snipe his ass!!! But when we play matches, no unlocks are allowed... so i rarely use them now so that I can get practice in with the weapons we do use! :)

LOL ive spent mines already damn those stpid people. Wonder what genius thought lets give out upgrade before we put the patch out!!! DAMN THAT IDIOT!!!

Yeah, The unlocks are for those with an account registered to SF for this reason:

The Unlocks have been provided so that those who wish to can unlock the new Special Forces weapons being provided in the up-coming patch (eg. the Sniper and AT unlock)

Therefore, those who have access to Tier 2 unlocks (e.g those with SF) will have access to the new weapons and thus have been provided with the means to get them.

I believe that if you know someone with SF, play on their copy, register some points and then log-out and then log back in once it's updated, you can pick and choose from the SF unlocks. They will then be available for you next time you play on vanilla BF2.

I was going to do that for gringotsgoblin but he gave me the wrong password :rolleyes:

For once, I recon it kinda is :p

Original game : 6 Classes 6 unlocks

Special Forces : 6 Classes 4 unlocks

Supposedly those with just BF2 already have the unlocks they're allowed (DAO - M95 ) wheras this patch adds to Special Forces

What will be interesting however, is if in SF if the Brit and Yank teams get to use the new weapons as their basic kit? (like the medic gets the G36E etc... )
