Oblivion - looks not so good on lower spec?

MY PC RUNS OBLIVION!!!!
I can run it on medium detail with everything on except shadows, reflections and AA.
So, I know got's a copy and can play it. incase anyone's interested here's my system specs compared to the minimum and recommended specs of the game...
My Specs:
* 1.3Ghz Duron Processor
* 512MB RAM
* NVidia GeForce 6600
Recommended:
* 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* 1 GB System RAM
* ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card
Minimum System Requirements:
* 2 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* 512MB System RAM
* 128MB Direct3D compatible video card
Please note the processor

Oh good, can I delete your save game now? Also, I found out how to make the area loading faster. Turns out the game makes regular use of the 360s hard drive, and so it fragments it awfully, making the areas load slower. I read on another forum post that if you hold in any button on the controller while the game is loading, the cache clears and the fragmentation is cured. Bit fiddly, but hopefully they can sort it out via a patch or something. Cant complain much tho, its not as if I dont get 60fps constant or anything
Also, docbot, you can find some decent bows if you clear some bandit-inhabited dungeons.
Id also like to exclaim how fantastic this game is. I spent all last night milking the radiant AI by making dungeon skeletons walk on the floor traps Easiest dungeon clearing ive done for a long while.

[mod]Split this off into its own thread from the "Oblivion" thread because the original thread was diverging rather a lot. This bit does appear to be about minimum spec, getting Oblivion to look good, etc. Hopefully makes sense![/mod]

For some reason your post had become orphaned when I split the topic. It was visible in the old thread in Linear Mode, but not Threaded or Hybrid. I've pulled it from the old thread and put it in here, but its lost its place in the structure unfortunately. Sorry about that.
