Yup, that stunning stallion of a diabolic war machine has made a map, designed for minileague 1.0!!! (no tanks, commander stuff, airplanes) and has been designed so that cover is ample, and strategic infantry maneuvers will win the day (yay! ^^)

Operation_Firing_Squad/Operation new guy can be found in Havens map storage thingy!

THE LINKAGE!!!! --> http://serenity.thehavennet.org.uk/~haven/files/BF2/maps/

its thrid(ish) from the top, download it and then create a folder called

Operation_Firing_Squad

at this location

Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield2/Mods/BF2/Levels

Extract all of the files to you new folder, when you start up your bf2 you can try her out on Create Local Server (Single dosent work with customs) The name is Operation New Guy, run it in 32 player mode otherwise something satanic may happen! i changed the name half-way through beacuse the first one sounded corny, but i didnt want to fuck around with the main files ¬¬

The map is in beta mode, please report back to the thread if you have any problems with the map, likewise the map has no readme/credits or Briefing Map.

Known Bugs-
-> Whilst driving under the cement factory you will become temporarily invisible, this is because of render faces i will fix in 3DsMax

cheers all

It saddens me that you think I can't read :p.

Of course I didn't try it on single-player, besides it won't even come up on the map list!

It doesn't come with it's own folder like the Map Pack ones. I tried placing the two zips from the download in Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield2/Mods/BF2/Level/Gizmo but it did nay work. I also tried just leaving them in the Level folder on their own, which also did nay work :(.

What to do...

Has anyone else got it to work yet?

So shouldn't the folder be called Operation_Firing_Squad?

Oh... my... Gawd!

Why are you even here Fury?

Shouldn't you be off somewhere trying to come up with new ways to extort money from females with bad hair?

:p

Woo! I just got Gizmo's map working! :D and I know what the problem is... I have told Gizmo and he is fixing it as we speak... for those of you that have already downloaded it, do not worry as the fix will be a tiny file that you will simply have to put in the right place... in fact... soddit. For those of you that want to get in there and try it now...
Code:
<map>
	<name> Operation Firing Squad </name>
	<briefing locid="Thatbloke woz ere.">map description for modders maps not localized (english only)</briefing>
	<music> common/sound/menu/music/load_MEC_music.ogg </music>

This is simply copied and slightly modified from a similar file for another map. Those of you who are computer-savvy may recognise that as XML.

go to the directory where you have already installed the map, which should be (at its default value) "Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield2/Mods/BF2/Levels/Operation_Firing_Squad"

and within there make a new directory called "Info"

Then, using something like notepad (though any text editor will do) copy and paste the code above and then save the file into that new Info directory you just made, calling the file "Operation_Firing_Squad.desc"

Then simply follow Gizmo's instructions in his first post and it should work! I've already annoyed the crap out of him by pointing out a few things that need to be fixed though :/
