Ah, but wouldn't the lack of calories actually increase the chance of short circuiting, and damaging, critical components? Sugar solutions tend to be non-electrolytes, so a decrease of sugar in the solution would theoretically increase the conductivity, which would increase the chance of a short-circuit.

Stick with regular coke - your 7900GT will be sticky, but safe.
