One for the Officers - where are we going ?

There's a large number of posts on the forums now with some of our more experienced players dropping out of WoW entirely or changing from raiding to casual.

There's also a lot of applications into the guild from people who will need to be geared up before they are ready for 25 man content (excepting Gruul and Maggy here).

So far there has been silence from the Officers and no obvious signs of motivation or direction (heading back to the bad old days imo).

So here's your chance folks where are you taking us and how are you going to make it happen ?

I don't see all that much of a problem. We still have the numbers to do a 25-man instance this weekend. We can even juggle a little. Some people need to be geared up, yes, and some of them can get helpful upgrades in those 25-man runs, or in the Kara runs we still do each weekend. The only problem with helping people gear up is the dirth of Heroics during the week, when there have been fewer people on recently.

The number of people leaving isn't as bad as it looks, since a couple are only on holiday or taking short breaks.

I don't see why we need to restate direction when it's the same as always; gear up and progress. Whenever we cleared Gruul or Maggy in a night and feel the group is perhaps solid enough to try, we plan to go and have a poke around Void Reaver's room in Tempest Keep.

So besides needing to encourage people to do more Heroics to keep things moving during the week, I fail to see any real problem.

The other thing we should be doing is pushing that 2nd Kara group to get going consistently, and that means a few of the better geared people (some officers, some not) going along to help out with their experience and leet tanking/healing/DPS skillz so a few blue-greenies can get some upgrades.

I get a little annoyed when people just switch off, log off or go play alts as soon as Karazhan gets mentioned. If it's a raiding night and you're signed up, you raid if you're needed. You don't just bog off and sulk because it's not the run you were hoping for.

precisely.

If the guild as a whole is to progress then this needs to stop...

I hate to say but im with haven on this..

Motivation has hit a low personlay for me and im still struggling to be awake in an evening due to my health so I kinda feel like I cant do what I want to in game...

I think there are others who feel like this. The momentum has faded and we need a happy injection.

The end of negative threads like this would be a start to the "Happy injection". Not a day goes by when i dont log onto the forum to see someone complaining about something.

Its really not that bad. We have had about 3 raiders leave, the rest are on halidays/ect. If people stopped being so negative about everything maybe things would start to improve some.

If a problem is perceived then I'll raise it rather than bury my head and hope that it goes away as if by magic. Its called being pro-active and is not perceived as a negative action by everyone.

If you have an issue with that then raise it in a separate thread to avoid dragging this one off topic please.

At some point we need to be able to "cut off" from Karazhan and Gruul/Maggie and then progress to SSC/TK. We will then need to do the same for BT/MH. This can only be achieved by having a consistent group of players around week-in, week out.

So at the moment, maybe this isn't happening.

But it's something that is being worked on and something that will of course take time to achieve. That is true for any guild - the problem is that alot of guilds that have been around for a while already have that base established and can then pick and choose from the pool of available players who they want.

Unfortunately The Haven does not have that luxury due to a number of factors, one being the state of the battlegroup it's in, another being that some people come and go, due to the fact that they want progression through the game faster than we are able to offer it - this is something that, until we are at a point where we can safely say that Kara/Gruul/Maggie will be for alts only, will always be the case. We are also NOT a hardcore raiding guild, although some people are on 24/7 there are a number of key members who are unable to be on as much as that (myself as an example) and are only available at certain times.

So my point: We are going in the right direction. But much slower than some other guilds. Where are we going? To nail Illidan to a post. How are we getting there? Very slowly. Will we have him done before WotLK drops? I'll be honest, probably not. But that doesn't mean we can't have fun trying :)
