Hey im not sure if this is the right thread but i cant download any of the patches since 1.20 therefore i dont want to get euro force yet which is making me really up set :(, i download thme fyn but then wen i try to install them it freezes on the preparing ot install thing and it doenst patch,it justs freezes my comp, what do I do?

Gopha my boy, how come "freezes", "download" and the plural of patch isn't a problem for you but words like "fine" and "when" are?

Is it the patch from DocBot? That one is screwed :). Apart from downloading it again and reinstalling the game I don't have any useful suggestions :p.

Ya this is the wrong thread it should be in "Battlefield 2" or maybe even the tech forum. Anyway I can't really suggest anything on the problem maybe reinstall BF2?

I can't see why this is happening unless as Piacular said you are using the dodgy copy that DocBot uploaded. Try using the second link Haven posted up, and let us know if it helps.

What I'd suggest, Download EA downloader or whatever.

Uninstall BF2, reinstall.

Then download BF2 patch 1.21 Full from EA D (it'll be around 400mb) install that beast, and you'll be away.

what he said. If it still doesnt work then you need to get on to EA support

ok still not sure what to do , it says you have to download patches before 1.2 and then 1.2 then 1.21, thats not an all in 1 isit!

In reply to your original post there Gopha, it could be something else on your computer that is freezing up the installer. Try killing all other programs that are running, including virus scanners and firewalls (but disconnect from the internet first, and make sure you dont have any virus before you turn off your AV :)).

I have problems where Norton seems to freeze my computer, as it scans files before they run. On big 400Meg files, this can take a while :(

It still doesnt work and I need it done before the inner clan war or i'll let everyone down, ive tried everything, but it just doesnt work, it goes up to 9% then freezes installing the patch :( *walks off crying*

do you have any antivirus or firewall programs running? if so, disable them. Also try booting into safe mode in windows and applying the patch then, it may help...

When you uninstall BF2 makesure you get rid of all of it including the BF2 folder that goes into your my documents area and any registery inputs from it.

I had similar problems with my first patch and you need to make sure its totally clean before reinstalling and patching.

It could be something to do with your install shield...

I had that problem on my old PC, but not with BF2, it turned out that a virus had buggered up that particular program, so it wouldn'tr work.

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to your problem. Sorry.
