Can anyone confirm this statement is correct?

If I receive money into my paypal account from another paypal user and then buy something with paypal, I will be charged no fees.

Fees are taken when trying to turn paypal money into real money.

This is how I understand, it to work.

This is how I've always found it to work - yes. Kind of like how the Post Office (etc) will charge you a higher conversion rate between currencies than the base conversion rate, making them some money in the process.
Provided you use Paypal within itself, there seem to be no charges...

Ok Killer I'll give you an example. I have 20 bucks on my account. You have none. You sell something to me that costs 20 bucks, so I send them to you via PayPal. PayPal now lowers my account by 20 (to 0) and raises your account by 20 - ((20*1,4/100)+0,2) earning some money themselves while not affecting the buyer, but the seller. Everything understood?

I don't believe so.

There's a chain where your money can be.

You - Your PayPal - My PayPal - Me

When going You to Your PayPal, you deduct PayPal fees from what ends up in Your PayPal.

Similarly, when I'm going from Me to My PayPal, I deduct PayPal fees from what ends up in My PayPal.

If you want to pay me, you have two choices. Pay me from You directly, or pay me from Your PayPal. If you use the first method (You directly), then your money is paid into PayPal first, thus fees are deducted at your end. The monies then end up in PayPal at my end, where I no longer pay fees for using them. If you pay via Your PayPal, no fees are deducted at all (though clearly, somewhere along the line, someone paid for the monies to be in PayPal).

Fees are only deducted going in, not out.

In addition, bear in mind that if you haven't hooked up your paypal account to a real bank account then there are charges for using a debit/credit card as the payment method too.

So if someone sends me £2 on paypal, and i then spend that money using paypal, i get a full £2 to spend.

A few people have sent me money for battlefield 3 via paypal, and in each case paypal makes no mention of charges anywhere, and i shop on ebay so i will use the money rather than remove it from the paypal system.
