I'd say go with the first computer with the ATI Radeon HD 4870 seeing as that has GDDR5, but personally I'd always say buying separate parts and building your own computer is ultimately cheaper. <.< >.>

These days I'm not so sure about that. Prebuilts are a dime a dozen. Individual components are rarely cheaper, and you're more likely to run into issues that way (especially if you're ordering components from three different places.)

I'm tending to agree with D on that point - I have recently been looking around and have found that although I can come up with a set of components that will match the price of a similar prebuilt system, that doesn't include the price of the Windows OS... so in some cases in the current climate it can actually be cheaper to get a prebuilt system...

As for the OP, I would go for the system with the ATi 4870 card. :D

Bah! Everything I know about computers these days seems to be out of date (except for the ATI matter at least!), must keep up with the times. T_T

the 4870 is the better of the 2 cards so would be my choice

as pre-built machines go that is pretty reasonable, though it doesn't look like that price includes an OS

for components for the same price your looking at Q9300, 4GB XMS2 RAM, DFI Lanparty board, 500GB HDD, Gigabyte HD 4870, DVD and 550W PSU
