Photosynth

Well now, the first few seconds of this video showing Photosynth, I thought, "Wow, they came up with a way to show Gigabytes of images very smoothly. So what?".

Then I saw the bit about the books, and magazines, and levels of detail you can add, and I thought, "Hmm, actually, that's pretty cool being able to embed more information at a smaller level so you can zoom in only if you want to...".

Then I the bit about images from Flickr, and I thought, "".

Pretty cool pieces of software from Microsoft there...

Requires windows XP SP2 just to view the demo ... I think not.

Yeah, well, Microsoft saying you need their OS to run it, what did you expect?

I view webpages on a linux box via thin client from another linux box ... I think they should bear my needs in mind more often
