Time's best photos of 2005. enjoy.

EDIT: due to the underwhelming response and obvious non-enjoyment of the original link I hereby give you links to some sites that have pretty pictures full of colour and general niceness for you all.

I guess it comes down to whether we look at the pictures or what they portray ;)

In Cryo Sleep
*sigh*

Just because it's sad doesn't make it great :/.

The pure elation on the London Teams face after they won the Olympic bid would have made a good photo.

During the Olympic bid win and the londom bombings happened i was in france, and because we won the bid they wouldnt let us see a tv becos we were english so we didnt know wat was happening in England, Basically all of my class were crying, how harsh is that.

well okay, like this: journalistic pictures are good if they portray something that creates strong emotion. It's also, of course, composition etc... I believe there is a separate category for sport pics, because elation when people win things isn't that unusual ;) I'm sure you get very happy from looking at those pictures, but I don't... at least all of us feel _something_ about these pictures...

er, I think that's my point.. ?

There's a difference between pictures that portray something that creates strong emotion, and pictures that are artistically excellent.

I saw maybe 2 artistically excellent photos in that bunch.

yes well these are the TIME magazine's year in pictures of 2005. They're meant to show us the important things that happened. I feel they manage that quite well. Nice and pretty pictures can be arranged, too: read my edited first post...
