Planetside 2 ... Grrr

So I downloaded it and everytime I start it up my monitor goes black and says "out of frequency" im guessing the resoultion is too high?

I know that you can open some file with notepad and change the mode and fullscreenmode to window but I dont know how to get to that file and I downloaded it through steam and all I have on my pc regarding planetside 2 is a god damn icon

Could be, or that the refresh rate is set incorrectly for your monitor.
