[Tech] Problem with a non existant file

So heres the story:

I recently installed Windows 7 (finally, YAAY ;) ) which, when installed, creates a directory on your harddrive called "Windows.old" in which the files of your old windows directory are saved for further use.

After I installed the backup files on my new W7 copy I wanted to delete the old Windows files as they were wasting roughly 60 gb on my drive. Till that point everything was fine.

Now, during the procedure of deleting the old files I got an error message stating: "The element 'element' is not located in 'custom directory' anymore. Please check the directory location and repeat the process." (this is a rough tranlation as my W7 is installed in German)

So I checked the directory and, who would have thought, it was empty. But when I try to remove the empty directory I get the same error over and over again.

Thats why I ask you to help me, please? :)

Reboot and try again; it could be that a process has locked the underlying directory inode, or a hidden system file (dont worry what this means just reboot and try again :P).

another thing that I have found works is to use the windows command line to remove it, let us know if you need help with that
