PS3 not ready !!

I spent about a month deciding that PS3 is the best console to buy. After looking through the games and deciding which 3 or 4 to buy I realised I think it would be better waiting as most of the games I am interested in are are having follow ups released later this year, for example Colin McRae Dirt is good and so is Motostorm, but developers are working on Dirt 2/Motostorm 2 to be released this year. PES 08 has brilliant gameplay but has serious online lag issues that will be rectified in PES 09. GT5 looks amazing but it could the middle of 2008 before we see release. Also is a bit cheeky they are releasing beta version of this called "GT5 Prologue" to the public in March and charging £18 for it.

Something which came to my attention, after analysing the racing games is there is only one which satisfies the criteria I wish, these criteria being:

a) compatible with Logitech G25 Wheel.
b) has online head to head racing.
c) has ability to change to 'in car view'

That game being "formula one championship edition", a bit disappointing that my choice is limited to one. GT5 satisfies all the criteria, as you might expect. The G25 steering wheel is quickly establishing itself as the default wheel for the PS3 with "burnout paradise" (released in January) supporting it and GT5 being optimised for it, I'm sure other developers will follow.

Star wars force unleashed, looks like an exciting game to play while you sit back comfortable on your sofa with feet up holding a PS3 control. This is to be released summer 2008, no plan at moment for PC release.

Xbox 360 has just had it's price cut. On amazon you can get it for £230 plus a free game, whilst the ps3 is still £280 with no free game. Makes you think a price war could start.

The ps3 will not, in my opinion, be in a position to compete with the Xbox's online capabilities until it gets the massive software update called (i think) "Home."

But this keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and the games that are released before that will need updates to be compatible with it.

Burnout paradise has also disappointed me - my brother bought it at the weekend, we got it home, put it in his ps3 and we were like "WTF??? where's the multiplayer option???"
Burnout Paradise has no split-screen multiplayer option. To play multipplayer you HAVE to play online. Highly annoying.

Gran Turismo 5 has an in-car view??? I had no idea, but boy am I pleased! The reason PGR3 was so much fun with the steering wheel was because of the in car view; it isn't so much different from the bonnet cam view, but just having the dashboard and the steering wheel in front of you makes a much bigger difference than you'd expect, even with respect to road attitude.
This is getting better by the minute!

By the way, all the GT games since GT3 have had a 'Prologue' version released beforehand. Definite money-spinning excercise.

Not amaizing stuff yet but no doubt these mods and things will get better the psp ones cirtainly did

and i love the fact the ps3 games are region free ive had Time Crisis 4 since november from canada its not out here till March 28th
