Raid Report: Fri 31/07/09

So the first of our make or break raids has happened tonight and I'll give a little summary of what we achieved.

We cleared Flame Leviathan (1 Tower), Razor Scale, Ignis the Furnace Master, XT-002 Deconstructor, Kologarn and Auriaya all without any difficulty. Then we decided to take on Thorim and Hodir as they drop tiered loot. We had some difficulty with them but got both of them down in the end. We skipped Freya in favour of going straight for Mimiron. As someone who hasn't seen the fight properly before it was Incredible. Not only did we get him to phase 4 (The final one), which I am told is a guild first, we also nearly killed him the first time we got him there. Over the course of this encounter tonight we have gotten phase 1 and 2 down perfectly and with a little more practise we will have phase 3 down like china town, or indeed the Berlin Wall.

We are continuing the raid on Monday, meaning that we WILL get Mimiron down this raid lockout and stand a good chance of getting Vezax down as the general feeling is both he and Yogg Saron are easier than Mimiron. SO as you can see the plan has started out well and hopefully it will carry on well.

I also want to thank and congratulate the other group than I noticed did OS8 and Im not sure what else. I also want to say that tomorrow nights raid may be another Ulduar 10 (Fresh) utilizing the people who were unable to attend tonight and alts of the people who did go to fill in the gaps. It may also just be naxx ten or even EoE, who knows but be online at raid time tomorrow and you stand a good chance of some fun.

Finally, I wish to end by saying thanks to all those who have suffered from this and will suffer for the next few weeks as we sort the guilds raiding out.

Thank you, all of you!

we've done OS8 only, as we couldn't get a proper setup for EoE10 or even UD10 and Naxx10 didn't meet much enthusiasm, but i think that all of us will try to do as much as possible and i'd personally would like to thank you all guys for participating, as it was a perfect game. :) i really didn't expect killing all without any wipes, but you made it come true!

I'd like to add that I facetanked Mimiron for about thirty seconds while the other lazy buggers started lying down! I mean, the cheek of it...

That Mimiron fight was awesome!! Probably one of the best fights I've done in the game so far! :)

Congratulations, progression group. It's nice to see your setup is, apparently, working. I feel bad for not being a part of the progression, "working in the rear", so to say, but at this pace this whole charade will be over soon.

Rock on,

Thank you for your congratulations Angelic but please, don't refer to this as a charade. This is a necessary step to sort out our raiding, which you cannot say has been good lately. Say what you will about not being included but don't belittle the efforts we have put in as false and certainly don't imply it is a parody of our normal raiding.

I must say that last night went very well. We've made some nice kills (though Hodir was annoying, as always) and Mimiron went very well, especially when you consider some of the people there hadn't done the fight before. On our best attempt (guild first into phase 4) we got the 3 sections (which have to die within 15 secs of each other) down to 10%/+-3%/dead at the moment the last person died. I'm quite confident he'll die next Monday, and then it's on to Freya, then Vezax.

On another note, if any of the people coming on Monday need flaks made (ie there are not enough in the Gbank), please state the kind of flask you want made and how many you want in this thread, and I'll try to get them crafted if I can get enough Frost Loti. any extras from procs will ofc go into the guildbank.

T-Bone, I apologize, it seems that once again my lacking knowledge of English has hampered me expressing myself correctly >.<

I certainly did not mean to say your efforts are little or pointless (as you may have gathered from my previous messages), what I intended to convey was the feeling that this is - even though neccessarry - quite unusual and (at least for us, the not included) unpleasant experience that will, hopefully, end soon (successfully, apparently).

Behoy, :)

La Frost Wyrm would be kindly appreciated. About 5 ought to be enough.

Cheers,
J.

I want to share this with you:

Before last night, I had participated in two Hodir attempts, in both of which we didn't manage to get much further than the first flash freeze phase. Therefore I didn't really know what was going on, what all the circles and mounds and whatever really meant.

The three attempts we needed to kill him yesterday got me to the stage where I now know this fight inside out and am able to avoid the bad and make best use of the good things.

After all, that's one of the important things this three week experiment is all about, and I call it a success.

Fantastic.

I'm glad to see my faith hasn't been misplaced, and I can't wait to see further victories like these.

Congratulations you guys, and good luck for Monday (Which I may be able to attend 0.o )

Cheers,
Dr Drae

Mimiron is a tricky fight, but like many that have slowed us down in the past, it's immensely satisfying and fun when everything finally clicks and you get it down.

I can say the same of General Vezax last night; I had the luxury of not having to worry about my mana, and not worry about three of the main elements of the fight (Saronite Vapours, Shadow Crash, and his AoE life-siphon), and instead worried about cooldowns that would keep the tank alive during the double-damage phases. But even with the various wipes on Monday, and the wipes last night before we got him down, it's a pretty decent fight and VERY satisfying when we knocked the big bugger over.

Now, if we can get Sara to get annoyed at us and start phase two of the Yogg'saron fight, then that'll be some delicious progress on top of what we achieved already...

Also, for the people who weren't in the group; I'm fairly sure you'll have somewhat less competition for gear from us when we split up for the two groups, and the experience we've gained so far feels invaluable.

Well I know I have stated once before in a previous post..

However I would like to say it again.

Congratulations on defeating Vesax.. I Know from personal experience that, that fight is a B**ch to defeat, especially for mana users. Although the gear point you made isn't an issue for me.. as I'm more for the enjoyment of raiding with people that are great to be around and can make me laugh.. I look forward to your guidance and help once these remaining 2weeks are over.

Once again.. Your making us proud.. please continue to do so!
