First of all I want to say that I am not looking to start a flame war. I am posting this because I raised this concern with one of the officers, who then asked me to post about these thoughts on the forum. I am not pointing fingers at anyone, nor has any names been mentioned here or to the officer I talked with.
Last night I was raiding. Raiding is fun, right? At least it should be.
I have raided with the Haven even before I joined it, and it has always been fun. That is why I joined.
But last night it wasn’t. The fun wasn’t ruined by the number of wipes we had, nor was it ruined by the fat repair bill. No, it was all the yelling at each other, and the name calling. When mistakes are made, that kind of behaviour won’t help. The one who made the mistake already feels bad about it. Making nasty comments about it or yelling at the person will only create an environment where people are so scared of making mistakes that they make them out of pure nervousness.
Things don’t always go as planned, and as long as people are involved there will be mistakes made every now and then.
It is not hard to be nice and work as a unity when things run smooth as a baby’s butt. The way people react when it does not says a lot more.
I don’t play WoW to listen to people yell at each other, or to be called nasty things. There is enough of that irl. I play to have fun with friends.
Sadly, last night didn’t feel very friendly at all.
