raiding nights

Hi guildies

Just a quick post to see if we can make the raid details a little more member friendly. I fully under stand the trial raider raider business and the need to have a balanced group.

Any way to my point. If the raid sign up shuts the night before would it be possible to have the officers, post proposed raid group so that we can see if we are going to be needed or what decision the officers have made. I know a lot of this may depend on maybe sign ups. But if like tonight we have 19yes and 7 maybes we could have a definant 10 man group posted and a proposed 25 man pending on maybes.

That would be assuming that all those chosen turned up. Of course, they should do if they said 'yes'. However, it doesn't always happen (I've been held up before, it happens).

I can see where you're coming from; but I think the logistics on it kinda hinder such an idea.

It's proposed group. And the good idea was also posting the replacement people. That way everyone knows what's their chance of getting a spot.
And I understand that it's hard to forsee, but -proposed- has a meaning, right?

I suppose mainly it is so the raid members can plan there weekend and not have to wait in on a friday night to find that they dont get a spot. Then i could be in the pub instead. what about a officer saying that there will be a 10 or a 25 man raid, naming the members and then naming some replacements incase of drop outs.

Just think there must be a better way than having 25 -28 raiders ready to go and finding we are short on healers/ tanks etc. If this was known before hand then we could have one 10 man group posted with a couple of replacements just in case and the rest of the raid would know the night before if they are in or replacement or out

The probem is that on nights like this it is often possible to make a group of 25 based on the signups and whoever is online at the time.

Obviously that didn't happen tonight.

I will try and push for getting proposed groups posted a little more in advance.

We were at one point writing up planned groups the night before, how ever for what ever reason this trend isnt being kept up which should be ammended.

As for any issues that showed up today it was purely due to the lack of healers and tanks.

Another problem that crops up is that alot of people some times dont sign up until the last minute, which does not leave much time for which ever officer is doing it, to look over the sign ups and write a list and post it in time for other members to then see.

I can understand it being disheartening to those who have signed up to find they dont have a spot after the invite have gone out and it is something we will try to work on.

I will like to point out though that for those who may not get a spot this does not mean you can automatically raid with other guilds inseat for that week. you still need permission, in most cases you will probably get it but unless explicitly told that you can take it as a no. [this applies to anyone of trial raider and above]. VoA is the exception to this rule ofc.

Indeed Zoogster, it was due to a shortage of both tanks AND healers that 2 groups could not be formed.

Dissapointing, i agree Adriss but there is nothing that could be done this time.

For anyone upset that we cant run the raids that we want: Find some healers or spec healer. Thats all that we can do to improve our current situation. We have millions of dps and ample tanks.

So spec healer or sit tight, its peoples choice

Unfortunately that is a sad fact of raiding, no matter how much blizzard may try and people will complain it is impossibe for anyone to just raid with any 10 or 25 people. Unless ofcourse they make every single class able to tank, heal and dps which would be silly.

It doesnt matter if 20 people sign up or 30 or any number for that matter if we dont have the tanks and healers to support the number of potential groups which obviously become an issue yesterday.

We only had 2 tanks garanteed and about the same number of healers, and as good as i like to wish i am i cant tank two naxx runs at once

I don't think that is the case. We have plenty of healers, from the active ones let me name Del, Feather, me, Sam, Skorn, Bel, Qaster, Tingham. That's 8 active healers, more than enough for one 25man or 4 (!) 10mans.

I don't really know about yesterday, I said I could be on at 2000 sharp and I would have stood up to that, but I was told not to so I didn't come.

This was mostly a post defending our healers - we have plenty and they are capable. I don't know where the problem lies, probably in the dpses, who knows.

Indeed, we have 8 active healers, can you remeber the last time all 8 where on at once, let alone all signed yes on the forums.

We have just enough at the moment, we've had a few lucky runs where we can get 2 10mans going or a 25 man, expecting the same few people to be available every week for every raid isn't fair or possible for most.

As Baldi says, we need more healers. Simple and unfortunate fact.
