Noticed that Gribley has a Raptr signature and then looked a little closer to realise that it seems to be a sort of meta-network that spans Steam, XFire, XBL, PSN, and more.

I don't really know much more about it than that.

Anyone got any thoughts or experiences?

old client was horribly buggy, killed it when it hit 3GB memory usage and didn't bother going back.
they have however improved it since then apparently so it might be better now?

It's a service that spams the fuck out of social sites. Don't know anything about it beyond that.

i tried it for a while after having it recommended to me by speedy (friend from dr-ukr who LANs with us)...

Let's just say that my experiences with it were not great.

Out of game, it works fine, does what it says on the tin, and allows you to chat to pretty much anyone on any major gaming network.

The real reason I tried it, however, was that it has an in-game overlay that allows you to use the chat facilities in-game without having to tab out... and this overlay was horribly horribly buggy and would regularly cause the game i was using to go massively crazy and force me to restart it.

i was using it with WoW, and after activating the overlay and then returning to game, the UI in WoW would be consistently fluckering on/off all the time (it was very strange...) and I would be unable to interact with the game at all.

Unfortunately I then also realised that the same "crashes" then happened even when one of raptr's toaster pop ups showed itself on top of my game too.... so I binned it.

That was about 4-5 months ago that I tried it, too...
