Really bad timing!

It has occured to me over the past few weeks that some people, in an effort to encorage people to play games when it suits them, have started making calendar dates for occasions very soon and that co-inside with other things.

On this occasion it may be the simple fact it wasnt made public knowalge there was somthing going on, but it would be polite to find out if it there is a clash as people tend to play more than one game with THN'ers.

im not against haveing random events but, when they only include making a night to entice people to play because its a good time for you isnt an event. Maybe asking around would be a better aproach. And making the dates further away isnt a bad thing! Youre more likely to get people if you do!

sorry for errors in text il get it read by a some one who can spell and write properly!

Is this insipred by a recent Event?

It must be! :).

All I can see on the calendar are BF2 Events... Are events for forums I can't see hidden?

well this is why iu said u might not know. The civ 4 crew are having a shin dig as a gang on friday as far as i know and also on sunday. If u wanna do bf2 events or anything for that matter either check with people is other stuff is on or make people aware of the other thing so they can decide what they want to do!

It's my fault guys. I didn't put Civ 4 up as an event for this Friday. It's looking like it's not going to happen in full anyways as certain people are going to watch shit films tonight.

I'm still up for some Civ action though. We might just have to start another when certain members want to join in.

This brings up an interesting point?

What to do with double bookings? Should the first event up get priority even if say the second booking is a clan match. I think so. One of the mandates of THN is that anyway...yes anyone can and should post up events if they are wanting people to play together. Like Guild Wars for example. When me and Bart started no one bothered their shirt but then I posted up a few events and we soon had around 20 people from THN signed up and around 10-15 playing every night.

Events make things more popular.

So I guess what I'm syaing here is we do need more events, I feel by the way this thread is going some people will be put off making events - don't be! Make as many as you want to get people interested in the game you're playing. About time BF2 lost it's strangle hold on us anyway :p

Also, first come first served. Please double check before you make a booking and if you do double book, you'd better either re-schedule or do some grovelling to the person who organised the first one.

Wow, that was an 'eventful' post...geddit? :)
