Say someone directs you to THN, you can put their username in there. So, if I directed you here you could write "Ronin Storm" in that box.
If we did something with that information then it might have relevance. For now, it's just bragging rights. Like until a few days ago I had the most referrals. Now I have to share that august position with the nefarious Haven.
I don't think there are any plans to do anything useful with that information, except to pat people on the back when they've done hard work bringing people here.
