Roll up Roll up, it is time for a raffle.

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls.

And of course Nanor.

It is that time again, as mentioned in my Kitty update it is raffle time. Much like hammer time we must all wear parachute pants and dance. Or perhaps not.

This is more of a getting it started thread for the time being, I'll fix a date later this month once I've tested the water to make sure we all want a raffle. My plan however you will be pleased to here will be to do it at the end of the month once pay packets are coming through in that week where we all kid ourselves that we have some spare pennies. Now I appreciate we have a strong student contingent that may want me to hold off until loans come through. If that is the case please post in here.

Much like previous raffles the exact prizes will be announced once we know the figure we are playing with.
At this stage this is not the official raffle thread, more as it were a testing of the water to make sure people are up for it. Once I know we have interest then I shall post the exact nature of both the ticket price and get the ball officially rolling. However my plan as it stands is to go with our previous tact and that is tickets will be £5 (I'm going to treat the money for this one in Sterling, the reason for this is that all the donations we currently receive are in GBP, conversion to Euros can be done with the click of a button) where £2 of this goes towards the eventual prize pot.

In the past Subscribers has had that months sub counted towards their entry into the raffle. This time I propose something a little different to recognise this contribution and propose essentially a raffle loyalty system going forward. I mentioned in the kitty update the plan will be to hold 3 fund raisers a year. So donations will be addressed thusly. For the 3 month period leading to the next raffle your sub will count each donation of £5 as a ticket. But additionally you shall also be rewarded for having that sub. If you donate £5 each month as an addition to the 3 tickets you have bought yourself with that sub you will also be rewarded another ticket. If you subbed £10 a month you would be given 2 bonus tickets. I feel this is a fair system but please post if you feel otherwise.

Otherwise it is open to you fine folk, what do you think. Remember what the prize is is up to you although some form of gaming related thing makes us all jealous of you. And to the MMO sub payers out there, remember winning this could pay for a good few months of play time so even if WoW or Eve is all you play roll up and get your raffle on.

What do we all think?

*confused*. That was nearly a case of tl;dr!

Have just setup a recurring payment instead. That way all of the money goes into the kitty, rather than £3 of £5! :p

i might be having some provisions inc in a few days so i might participate somehow - just need to ask - is being from outside of GB a big problem should i by some divine intervention win anything? :P (this is a silly question, as it all is obviously rigged, but so what :D )

No, being outside the UK shouldn't be an issue for this. The prizes for the raffle are usually your selection of a game up to a particular price limit bought from Play or Amazon or someone pretty accessible to most.

Oooh, I almost forgot about all this, I'm a bit low on cash at the moment but might be able to put aside a fiver for a ticket. :)

Sorry for not setting this up yet, since my holiday when I made the OP work has been a bit on the manic side. As of tomorrow I'll have 3 days off and will write it all up and get the ball rolling.
There's enough interest certainly to make it successful and the draw of possible free stuff will no doubt get more ppl involved.

So, what is the actual prize, and are we allowed to just redonate winnings? :P

The prize is a cash prize with which you can do as you please. If there is enough interest there will be a first and second prize. But that is determined by the other thread.
