Server automatically signing me up for events

For some reason, the site keeps signing me up for events automatically. So far it's not been a problem as the two times it's happened (the BF2 clanmatch vs TTP and the CSO vs Commandos mini-league match), I had planned to take part anyway. I just don't want it to happen for something I can't attend and cause problems for people then relying on me to turn up.

me2. found myself signed up for the tuesday challenge match thingy when i hadn't signed up for it at all. I had already been signed up for sunday's event though, not sure if that has anything to do with it

I think it only happens if you visit the calender via a link from another member (such as the kind a I regularly post in the shout box) so in this case, I think you'll find curiosity killed the cat :p

Yes I hope this third post by me will clean things up.
Some people who are hosting events have provided links to the calender where you sign up. These links automaticaly sign you to the event when you click on them.
It is the responsibility of the person organising the event to give you the correct link to the calender which does not automaticaly sign you up, if not, then they should inform you that the link will do so.
You can check if a link will do this by looking for the "=attend" in the link. If it contains that, then the link will sign you up to the event when you click it. An alternative is to make your own way to the event on the calander and sign up at your own disgression.

Unfortunetly, I have only previously linked to Calender events, that I have signed up for, thus the code in the HTTP address, I'll bare this in mind in future, and check those damn links :p

Though of course, if you do discover you've signed up for something you don't want to, you can always click the I will no-longer be attending this event button
