Those of you taking a look at [thread=1113]the new two column styles[/thread] will already be aware of the plight of the server fund. Those who are not, here's the urgent cry!
Historically, we've always tried to run two months in hand -- that is to say that we tried to consistently carry funds so that we could all see that this month and next month were always paid for. This way we had a buffer zone so that if we all had a bad month we still could have a server the following month.
Well, we've used up that buffer. And now we're using up that final month.
Let me say this plain as day:
No Donations = No Server = No Custom Games / Clan Server / Radio Archives
There is a further risk, broadly dependent on Haven's availability over the next two weeks, which is that this site, THN Games, is hosted on the same server. Currently, if this server goes down so does THN Games. If, for some reason, Haven is unable to port the domains, sites and databases to some other location then you can pretty much watch all this go dark and silent and that may be that.
So, that money you spend on beer, or pizza, or your next computer game, or whatever... if you value having a games server for THN now is the time to seriously think about doing one, and preferably both, of the following:
People are contributing to THN in all sorts of ways. Some contribute in many ways, monetarily or otherwise (organising games, posting interesting links or articles, helping out as Mods/Admins, and more besides). To all those people, I really thank you -- you are marvelous people and I only wish the world were filled with people like you. I'd hesitate to write a list of names because then I'd risk offence to the one or two I accidentally forgot, but ultimately you know who you are! Thank you again.
Really, this isn't a message for you to respond to, this is a message for those who contribute a little less frequently, or haven't had chance to make their mark here yet.
The thing is that any of you can be like that and, to be honest, the very simplest way you can help is to donate a tiny piece of pocket money each month from your beer/pizza/games fund to help keep THN's diversity and flexibility alive.
Enough preaching. The situation is plain. Go check the Donations FAQ and either drop just a little in the server pot or take out a subscription, using PayPal, to help keep the server going into the future.

- First and foremost, we need another 53.18 euros to pay for next month's server rental within the next two weeks.
- Second, to prevent just the same thing happening next month (and the month after, and after that), we need more regular contributions from you, the community. 5 euros from 10 of you, each month, would go a long way to keeping this server alive. That's 3.45 GBP, around the price of a plain pizza or a couple of pints of beer here in the UK. Hell, 2 euros from 25 of you would be marvelous. 2 euros! Roughly 1.40 GBP. Less than one cheap pint.
