If I set my computer back to factory settings, would it clear my 2nd hard drive as well?

Everythings crashing randomly, my computer restarts by itself, It's getting rather annoying, and I'm going to assume I have some kind of hardcore virus on my computer that my scanners haven't picked up.

If by "factory settings" you mean you're going to wipe your OS install and reinstall, then it will only wipe whichever hard drive you choose to wipe. You could potentially wipe the second, but you'd have to choose to do so :p

No, I mean set back to Factory Settings, AKA, Brand New, so it wipes all programs but keeps the OS, but makes a clean hard drive.

You are both describing the same thing. When you do a Factory settings wipe, it will delete everything then reinstall your operating system automatically. It won't keep it.

Oh, fair enough. :p

If in doubt unplug the 2nd hard drive first.

noooo! Don't do that. If you unplug it, all the data will fall out of the socket :p

I'd say try doing a repair if there is an option to. There was with XP so I imagine there should be with vista.

Agreed, get 7 if you can. However, the vista repair thingy is a life saver. Typically, probably the one good thing about vista.
I think you have to be particularly special to wipe a 2nd hard drive. You have to be special enough to ignore the warnings of "THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATAS EVAR", anyway.
