Unless there are friends holding you back then yep definately. Not all heavily populated realms are also friendly realms though so do some research on attitudes towards new people on the realm forums, also create an alt to take a look before you spend.

As always its really about what you want from the game and whether you're getting that where you are now.

I also wouldn't know how reliable that information is. The realm I used to play on, for the Alliance, has lacking information about the 'top 50 guilds' Most of the guilds on that list don't even exist on there anymore...

Spent a bit of time researching other realms. The more populated realms tend to:

a) be not RP (Reliable People :D)
b) have Alliance/Horde population imbalance
c) contain many people where English is not thier first language despite it being an English realm.
d) Have lots of immature people (couldn't belive what is on the forums and how they talk to each ingame)
e) Have waiting time before u can login.

The only server that would be worthwhile transferring to would be "Defias Brotherhood", but that is medium populated, not High as what I was aiming for.

So the conclusion of my research is to stay where I am for the moment.

If this gets implemented AND it affects raids (only dungeons announced inially but here's hoping) then it may make the whole realm transfer moot. In effect you'll pick a realm with a healthy market and out of raid social and then raid with groups on a variety of realms.
