Shoutbox error

Hey.

Got the error message:

"Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /vbshout.php on line 294"

in the shoutbox (suprisingly!).

Possibly because ive gone from one wireless network to another at home while just hibernating, but the error seems to popup nonetheless. Works okay on refresh.

Ive done php modding before (for phpbb) and a fair few php websites, so can have a look if youd like me to contribute :)

If you don't let the boards remember who you are (by ticking the box that says "remember me" when you log in) then your browser session expires after a while. It's the way most websites work. You think that you are still logged in, but as you haven't done anything on the page for a while, the server forgets about you. If your browser doesn't remember your log in (via a cookie which is sent to the server), the server doesn't know who you are. Therefore, when the shoutbox refreshes, you get an error (as it's not pubblicly shoutable).

So, not really an error, but a better message could be displayed, like "Please log back in to post in the shoutbox", etc. :)

true indeedy.

but whichever way, its not catching an error thrown by the php exe, which i class, from a web developers p.o.v, as being an error! :p

*sigh* the fun of web development. just had to bung a load of htmlentities(*, ENT_QUOTES) into a site *grumbles*!

Well, as a (semi) web developer myself, true. But we don't call these things "bugs", to the consumer, they are undocumented features :D Best thing to do is hope Ronin Storm (the resident guru) looks at this, but he seems busy at the moment, and always has a list of hundreds of things to do first, being that he is continually improving the site!
