Hurrah, multi-faceted thread time! I'll try to keep it brief (for once).
First up, Sign-ups! For those that have managed to not notice at all, we are using the in-game calendar for all sign-ups now. Whilst the method may vary (sometimes you get invited and have to choose Accept, Decline, Tentative, etc, and sometimes it's an event you have to actively sign up to), the end result will be the same; Trial Raiders and up who are currently active need to respond to each progression raid sign-up, even if only to say no. If you don't sign up, don't expect a spot. If you sign up as a yes, then be there on time! Nice and simple stuff. If we get too many people continuing to not turn up when they've signed as a yes, then those people might find themselves not exactly being top of the list for getting taken when they do bother to show up. If you're genuinely not sure, Tentative is there for a reason!
Second up, Monday/Tuesday raids. Elincia has volunteered to try get these going, and the intent is that they be a second raid group rather than a continuation of the Thursday/Friday progression raiding. Where possible we will try and only use Trial Raiders and up with their main characters and main specs, but until we get more people of certain roles geared up and ready, off-specs and alts will likely be needed to fill in the gaps. People who have characters available and can be around on those days, please do sign up. And most importantly; if you sign up, TURN UP! Last time there were only seven people online, most of whom weren't the ones that had signed as yes for the event; just because it's not the Thursday/Friday raid doesn't mean you can not give a toss when you've said you'd be there.
Finally, I know that some people have had concerns and problems with the way things are being done now. I know it's different, and I can understand that if anyone has misinterpreted or misunderstood some of the changes we've made that it could cause a lot of worry and concern. We don't want people to be scared that we're going "super hardcore", or that we're just taking the fabled "A-Team" only (I genuinely am starting to loathe that phrase, it gets slung around far too much for no real reason). The only people who should have any real cause for concern are those that cannot be bothered to learn to play their class and pull their weight in raids.
We're not asking that you be half-epic and outputting 20k DPS before we take you! We're asking that you be mostly heroic-geared (item level 346 or better gear from heroics, reputation, justice/valor points, crafting; all are easy to get your hands on, and having one or two 333 pieces is perfectly fine!), that you know how your class works and which buttons to mash, that you know that standing in fire is probably not the best idea, and that you can turn up on time. That's basically it. Yes, we might sometimes specifically take a stronger group to break a more vicious progression barrier if it's been giving us a harder time than normal, but unless we have to do that to make headway, then we'll try and vary who we take, try and give everyone a fair chance. Being a Veteran and up, or being in (or formerly in) Lincoln doesn't mean you automatically get a raid spot, so all you Raiders and Trials can calm down; if you DO get left out a lot, then ask one of us if there's a reason for it. It should hopefully just be simple oversight or that you're genuinely not ready and we don't want to put you in a situation where there are unfair expectations of what you should do.
As a last note (and I hope that I'm not going to regret this); if people have any serious concerns, PM me on the forums or whisper me in-game. Where possible, I'll try and explain and/or sort something out. This does not, however, mean that you can spam me with messages if you don't get a raid spot one week, and I won't tolerate anyone getting snappy or snarky with me. If there's a problem or you have a concern, I'm here to talk to if it'll be a friendly talk.
...why do posts always end up longer than I intended?
