Sins of a Solar Empire

Stardock have just sent me an email for a real-time multiplayer strategy game set in space, called Sins of a Solar Empire. I liked the screenies but I don't know much about it at the moment.

Sounds a bit like Supreme Commander, but in space. I guess that makes it a little like Homeworld...

Anyone got any experience with this one (recognising it's only in beta at the moment)?

another 'Make your own space odyssey'

I loved the Star wars, 'Galactic Conquest' part of Empire at war and Battlefront I & II, but this won't have the same FPS action to it like those, but we shall see how this fares without that especially as its an RPG kind of RTS and i also like those types of games alot, take Spellforce as my example i like that due to the RPG characters, and the huge armies you can amass to slaughter your enemy

Stratagy space games are pretty poop. Only a few pull off bein good....

They can be done really badly. I really liked the Point Defence Systems mod for Homeworld 2, though. Made space battles feel like the ones in Battlestar Galactica.
