There's a feature I haven't turned on for THN because I don't understand the point, but maybe you guys n gals would actually like it...

It's possible to add buttons (on threads or posts, I assume) for social bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon, del.icio.us and Digg. Would you guys actually find that useful or interesting?

Vote in the poll and post to tell me why I should find them interesting (or not).

I rarely use them on websites and I don't think anything posted on THN would end up on Digg. :p

I voted "FUCK NO! Keep that shit disabled!" just because it makes me laugh. But really, I don't see the point of it for THN. It wouldn't drive any traffic that we would find helpful. Or that is my opinion, at least.

Agreed, but perhaps worth reviewing in the future?

Most of those are only useful features for a totally open site. Ours has much of its content locked down to registered members only. If it is possible to turn it on for some but not all forum sections then that would make the most sense.

Also, whilst I do use stumble upon, I can quite easily add sites without the need for additional "widgets". So it is not something I personally would use.

I'd much rather stick to the tried and tested "word of mouth" method of attracting the criminally insane to come join us.

Fourthed?

To be honest, I don't particularly use the whole Social Networking thing, and certainly i've never particularly found anything on the community which I would want to place on there, if it's a particularly funny thing and I really want to tell people about it unless (rarely) it's original content from THN, i'd far rather hear repost the original site rather than here. I get a tad fed up following articles reporting on articles reporting on items on news sites to actually get to what I want and the details about it!

I'll keep an eye out to see if a different portion of the community suddenly gets an interest in this but I'm getting a "fuck no" vibe from this poll... ;)

sixthed or seventhed or whatever, I just liked the look of "fuck no" besides, i think the whole social networking can be a bit personal and so perhaps should be kept out of forums, other than that, I don't really feel any need to use this feature.

My Question: Omg Haven, When did you end up in Belfast? =D

I originally voted fuck no, but I changed to yes as I felt sorry for the affirmative option. Poor old yes. Just trying to be heard.

Please read it as a Sympathetic Fuck NO though.

:p
