It seems, that NASA have finally decided to get out of the 60's and 70's and use some up-to-date ideas in their mission programming. All we have to do now is hope their scientists can tell the difference between feet & inches, and meters & milimeters.

I think that this step brings the exploration of the solar system by humans that much closer. If we send robotic probes that have a decent level of "inteliigence" to every planet, moon, asteroid, comet that could even vaguely be interesting, then we will be able to concentrate manned missions on the most interesting places, and would even keep the cost down to boot.
