Solarian and his Bombs

Hello raiders,
as most of you know we've been on Solarian today, wiped on her several times and once brought her down to 53%. Not exactly bad, but it could have been much better, if EVERYONE ALWAYS knew when he/she was "the bomb".

I know, that we get a raidwarning and get whispered, but seriously, in the heat of battle it's pretty easy to overlook that. I for myself can admit that healing keeps me so busy that sometimes I really don't know what's going on because I only focus on the health bars of all you lot.

There is one addon, however, that will make IMPOSSIBLE for you to miss the warning(s) and blow everyone else up. This addon is called "Solarian Alarm" and will turn your screen blue when you get the bomb debuff - it still allows you to see through the blue mist to properly navigate away from everyone else, but it really is impossible to miss it.

I would suggest that everyone downloads and installs it - it can be found here. Contrary to what Spax said, it DOES work (I tried it myself tonight).

While that's all well and good, everyone should know that that particular mod is not mandatory guild policy.

Encounter-specific mods are borderline cheating. I don't have Ogri-lazy either. DBM/BigWigs are about as far as I'm willing to go... Anything further than that, and I start to feel like the mods are playing the game for me...

Other than that, I'm not recommending against it, either. If you feel it'll help you and you welcome that type of help, by all means, go for it. :)

I'd assume you guys have had this experience from Molten Core, surely?

I mean come on, Geddon used to do it! I know the odd person couldn't work out what the giant burning thing on them was back then, but its been like 2 years since MC! :S

Well, the standard DBM had the Big Bad Wolf from Opera screaming in my ear "Run Away, Little Girl!", and that's enough for me.

Not everyone has done MC unfortunately for us it seems

It certainly is not mandatory, here I was just trying to help and speed up the progress.

Also, I did not do Molten Core and do not quite follow Trax's comment.

I'd certainly recommend trying it out if you were having trouble spotting when you were the bomb, although the whisper spam should have done it :)

As Zooggy said, it's not mandatory, but if the same people keep wiping the raid, then you should consider trying it out.

especialy if ur having issues with the mods you should have... or they just arent getting ur attention!

i know i was only there for a few attempts but i find it hard to believe people were having trouble spotting the bombs, you glow bright pink/purple and stuff. even on low spell detail i could notice.

I know some people probably dont notice due to looking where to click on abilities, to those i say L2keybind :p

Eitherway its not difficult, will just take a bit of getting used to and i think we can get her down next attempt, though unfortunately it has been proven before t hat spacial awareness isnt the strong point of the haven... less drugs tbh :eek:

What I mean is that the whole I am a bomb thing is old, people shouldn't be being stupid and getting killed by it, I mean, sure, sometimes I may have deliberately gone and sat down next to my guild leader while I was the bomb and watched him fly up up and away, but Its really hard not to notice, even back in the days of Molten Core!

Thus why I said its been two years, so this should be easy.

Perhaps, if you're getting people un-aware of whats going on, why not organise a little group to go into MC and train up on Baron Geddon?

Dude - about 98% of The Haven have never done any pre-TBC raiding before...

so chill.
