T-Bone
In Cryo Sleep
Since for the past two months or so we have been bombarded with Jackasses on our Teamspeak server and since the powers that be have decided that none of our channels can be passworded here are a few tips in the meantime to help the spammers not get to you.
1. There has been a wow Anti-Grief channel for quite some time now. A lot of the spammers can still talk in here without voice rights but it stops some of them. In order to be able to speak int his channel yourself, without having to ask everytime you join, you have to register with the server. To get these rights ask a Server Admin next time your'e on such as Myself, Thingy, Windzarko, Razaak etc. to give you rights to register. When you have these rights go to Self>Register with server. Once here type a username (Can be anything as it's not whats displayed when you are in a channel but it's still useful if it's your mains name in WoW) and a password. Once this is done go to Connect and in the server details window click the "Registered" radio button and enter your Username and Password. Also, click the Auto Reconnect button. As a small note the nickname box is whats displayed in the channel as your name.
Once this is done you should find an (R) next to your name on TS rather than the (U) that was there before. This means your registered, when this has happened ask any admin for auto-voice rights for the anti-grief channel and you will have them forever.
2. Some spammers use what is called Global Whispers to spam you. This means they voice whisper everyone on the server and it's difficult to block these. The bext way is to turn them off as hardly any legitimate reasons to use this feature exist. To block this completely go to Settings>Sound Settings then click the other tab and click the "Block Whispers by default" button.
3. The final thing would render the spammers who connect and disconnect 5000 times a minute a useless. While still in the Sound Settings option from above go to Sound Notifications. Under the Joining and Leaving channels menu delete the sounds for player joined and player left. These can be renabled at any point by clicking on them and setting them back to the default. Also if you are a Server/Channel admin under the granting a revoking rights menu delete the sound for voice requested as there are spammers who spam that while we are in the anti-grief room.
Hope this helps everyone and hopefully it will do until we can find a more permanent solution for a new Teamspeak server.
