someone with a registration problem

Sorry to bother you chappos but just had someone try to create an account and has a problem.
He created an account "robin", verified his email address but when he logged in, it asked him to register but said registration denied. He can't do anything else.
Is this a problem or has he missed something?

(cos i've been drunk since i registered and i can't remember the process)

His account has probably fallen foul of StopForumSpam. That'd make it the first false positive we'd had. It'll be a hit on his IP or email address, most likely. Suspect the latter, especially if his address has been pwned. Suggest he tries with a different email address as the volume of attempted spam on THN is really much too high to drop that validation mechanism.
