I was curious did any of you know of a program that converts Speech to Text? I'd be very greatful if you could link me to one (Rep!). Also, can you make sure it works with Open Office? Thanks!

I'll look for some.

I can find plenty of text to speech programs, but most speech to text programs are pay-to-use or not very good =/

We used to have a speech-to-text program that worked with Lotus Smartsuite for our very very old PC. It wasn't terribly great, but we had quite a laugh with it. Maybe Lotus Smartsuite has it built in? I do remember there was a lengthy setup process where the PC had to 'remember' your speech. Very clunky.

Lazy like copy & paste? Lazy like the auto-fill thing you get for forms?

The new world is all about doing nothing :D.

I wasn't able to find any free programs, but there are some out there. Besides the program Ronin Storm linked, I found this. No idea how well it works though.

You're looking at a product that people know they can sell. Imagine anyone who has trouble typing -- upper body or back disabilities, for example. They'll all find this sort of product invaluable. I don't imagine the code for this sort of product is at all easy either...!

I think Windows XP has speech recognition built into it. Check for the "Speech" icon in the Control Panel. It had a tab for Speech Recognition for me.
