So, as briefly mentioned in the other fortress thread, I find that it's too difficult to follow along and remain motivated about playing a fort that is run at such a slow pace. "Speedfort" is a terrible way to describe it, but I'd like to propose a new game with a few different goals to keep things moving:
I propose the rules work a little something like this:
Would anyone be up for playing a somewhat less 'casual' progression game following those rules (or similar?)
Our current lineup:
BiG D
Traxata
Xarlaxas
Ghostwolf67
Ronin Storm
- Turns are no longer based on specific calendar weeks, but instead based on when the previous player finishes.
- All the updates will be kept in one thread, to save having to jump from thread to thread to read backwards.
- Turn lengths will be more strictly enforced.
I propose the rules work a little something like this:
- Every player has one week to play their turn, starting from when the save is posted.
- The player must post in the thread and "claim" their turn within 24 hours of the save being posted.
- If it comes to be your turn and you know you won't have time to complete it, you can defer to later in the lineup instead of claiming.
- If a player misses either of those deadlines, their turn is forfeited and will be passed on to the next person in line (who then has 24 hours to claim the turn and one week to complete it.)
- Some slight leeway with these deadlines is possible, but it will be measured in hours rather than days.
