If you happen to be using Firefox 2.x (most of you?) you can download an extension that adds inline, as-you-type spell checking in a fashion similar to MS Word. This marvelous addition available from:

You can customise your own dictionary as you go and other neato functions. In fact, I struggle to think why you wouldn't download such a wonderful extension. It even avoids marking bbCode as a spelling error (for those who use the standard editor rather than the WYSIWYG editor).
