For those of you who were disappointed in the cancellation of Stargate SG-1: The Alliance, you may be heartened to hear that more games are being planned in the Stargate universe.
Gamespot reports a new MMO in the making, presumably in the RPG stylee. I notice that a number of the key players are here from other dead or largely unsuccessful projects (Earth Above and Beyond, The Matrix Online) but hopefully that means they've learnt what goes wrong and have good ideas on how to make it right.
Still, the new game is called Stargate Worlds. Have to see if it makes it past beta...

This sounds alot like Planetside to me, which I think is an absolutely brilliant game... but now too expensive (i think its still £9 a month!) even though they now have ads in game too. The problem with that game was when they released Aftershock, an expansion that introduced massive Mechs into the fray... they were WAY WAY WAY WAY overpowered and imbalanced to begin with and a hell of a lot of people left due to this...
