Taking a break with Eleifsha.

Hi All,

Just to let you know that I've started a new job this week (yay!). The downside of this is that I'm now on a 6 to 12 week intensive training course. This means that I'll not be able to raid at all during the week for at least 6 weeks as I'll not be home in time for the start times (this includes Fridays unfortunately). I'm going to try to carry on raiding on Sundays, but with having less time to myself throughout the week, I'm not sure how that's going to work out. As the course changes in 6 weeks to a different type of training, I won't know until I start it what the times are, so I'll let you know then.

See you all at some point :)

Shadow.

Six weeks of intensive training in geekology. We'll barely recognise you when you emerge! Come to think of it, surely playing WoW in any possible moment of spare time is a job requirement.

I'm learning to be a cobol programmer. Given that I've never done any programming at all before, it's rather a steep learning curve at the moment! Hopefully at the end of the 6 weeks I'll pass the tests, and then will be put into a work team, where I'll have 6 more weeks of 'on the job' training, and then if I'm OK there, I'll get a permanent job!

And thanks Bradstreet, yes I am becoming geekified - I was thinking this morning that I should really get myself a thermal mug for my coffee!!

Ahey, :)

I'm learning to be a cobol programmer.

<shudder>

I had a professor in college that had a hierarchy for programming jobs. It went as follows:

If you are offered a job programming in LISP, accept for free. Programming in LISP is its own reward.

If you are offered a job programming in C++, accept gladly, but charge a load of money. Programming in C++ is fun, but it's a job, and you might as well get paid for it.

If you are offered a job programmin in Assembler, refuse it flat out. No amount of compensation will offset the grievance.

If you are offered a job programming in Cobol, shoot yourself. The mere thought of the offer will haunt your nightmares for the rest of your life.

So there... :)

Cheers,
J.

I think that anyone who chooses to stay in university and avoid the real world has very little grounds to comment on programming jobs :p

Anyway, we'll miss you Eleifsha. *sobs*
