Well, I find this advert so funny (being a spoof of the beautiful Sony Bravia advert). It's been on Transbuddha for a while, but I just love that much, I thought I would share it with you lot

Perhaps it's the font that's used on the board? Some fonts don't have support for all characters, but this looks like a standard one...

The characters not showing up thing was discussed previously I believe. It was felt that alot of research and groundwork would need to go into sorting this out, as apparently it is to do with the database having some really weird default encoding. If that encoding was changed it could screw EVERYTHING up, so it needs to be tested in some way first...
