Teamspeak doesnt work?

Gibsonfire

In Cryo Sleep
Well i logged into teamspeak and then about a minute after logging in i get disconnected from the server. Then when i try to log back in it says that 'that user is currently logged in'. This has happened twice now and i am unsure why.

Might be something to do with your connection or firewall or someone stole your teamspeak account on THN. I view the last option as extraordinarily unlikely though :)

Try connecting without logging in.

[mod]Moved from The Soap Box to FAO: Site Admins. This thread should probably go in Tell the Admins! forum but I figured it'd get better visibility here and it's just about as appropriate.[/mod]

I've tried looking round the server as a Server Admin but I can't see any details that would help me understand why you're being disconnected. Once you successfully get a connection for more than a minute can you hold onto that connection indefinitely?

Hmm, looking at T.S's website it does suggest most problems are client-based.

A couple of questions Gibsy:
How are you connecting?
Are you behind a router?
Is it a wireless or wired connection?
Have you a Hardware Firewall?
Have you a software firewall - If so what?

Finally the relevent FAQ from t.s: http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=19293

Secondly the next time you connect, can you do the following : Settings > Options > Other and change log-options to "Debug" (that'll help us later :p )

There might be something informative on the Server Log's but only the superadmin can see that (who i'd expect to be Haven :p )

DocBot,
If you're having similar problems, then again put the log files onto "Debug"
But if it's been caused by a new mic, it might be fixable in an easy way.

Firstly in sound options, try changing from "direct" sound to "wave" sound
Secondly as you're an SA you could try changing the Codec of a channel, and see if that makes any differance?

it's not the mic methinks, I get the "your connection to the server has been terminated" message...

I'd tend to agree with that assessment. Mic problems causing disconnection problems would be pretty far fetched. That said, I've been caught by the "there's almost no chance the problem is in there..." before. ;)

Unfortunately we have had the logging level on minimal for the TS server. I suspect its client side since nobody else appears to have issues. I'd try it again today - sometimes these glitches are network load or network route related (we've had various routing issues into valueservers network in the past).

If you still have problems tonight then come grab me via xfire and I'll take a look for you.
