TF2 crashed. 24/5/09 21:58

I may or may not have crashed the TF2 server a minute ago.
It may not have been me but from my experience in admin console poking and steam servers dying soon afterwards.
I opened the admin panel looked at all the options then exited without actually doing anything. The server about 10seconds later kicked everybody off and restarted the map rotation.

Not sure if it was me or not but figured I'd report it all the same.

I've poked through the menus without doing anything and that's not been an issue. Better keep an eye on it.

looking at what of a log there is (the log L0524069.log) shows rcon status commands every 5-6 seconds till 21:54 then none, the round ends and the server starts to load the next round and dies 15 seconds later so my guess is it's something to do with that i.e a problem with the server contacting steam

The rcon status lines are me on HLSW if they're the 78.33.xx.xx ones.

Right, slapping is the only thing I've discovered so far that crashes the server. You can still do the necessities; kicking, map changing and vote initiating. No slapsies anymore.

Slapsies have been removed. Now get lots of people to stay on the server to get our server score back up!

I'm going to make the server kick people who sit and spectate without doing anything for more than 15 minutes. And ban them if they do it 3 times. I hate people who take up slots on the server so they can get their unlocks.

15 minutes? I would make it 5.

That said, if it's a bannable offence then maybe 15 is better. Still, practically, I think 5 is more like it. 15 minutes and a round is nearly over.

5 minutes is a little too short I think, what if I'm playing but need to go afk for a few minutes due to a phone call or something?

I then come back to find i've been kicked and potentially lost my spot on the server

Them sitting on the server for 15 minutes means that we don't lose any server score when they "leave"
