Wasn't it always free to play...?
There have never been any monthly fees to the game, but now the game is entirely free. Although the free version has a couple very minor restrictions, you can still play any game map class get any weapon etc. without paying for it. And even if you want to get the bigger backpack and the cosmetic items that are restricted from you, you only need to buy anything in the in-game store to lift the restrictions. This can be a €15 hat or a €1 weapon.
Anyway, I do like this. It's going to be a lot like when the mac users joined in, a huge slaughterfest
