The madness of Microsoft pricing

After just discovering that my computer comes only with Microsoft Works *shudders*, I had a look around for Microsoft Office. It seems that Office 2007 Home Standard is a whopping £300, yet Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition is only £60.00

Why? Am I being stupid or are they?

They are.

I Would suggest to you the goodness that is OpenOffice. This is a completely FREE open source alternative to Mickeysoft Office, that is very highly compatible with all office formats too.

Remember, it's free :)

It came on my pc? :D

However, I can buy it for about £10-20 for a full, legally licensed copy from a friend who works in BT
