The Minecraft server is down

I don't know if anyone else knows but I think the Minecraft server is down as I can not connect.

Just thought I would let you know.

Ta for the heads up, I've restarted it and done a test connect and all seems well now.

The server has been taken down (to be rehosted in a while - day or two) as the server is being pulled out of the data centre.

cos its mentioned in the generic "updates to THN" thread that the server has moveded :)

Maybe we need an announcement on the main THN page in the shoutbox to that post?

Oh, to give you a time-frame, it will be back online tomorrow, though you might need a new address to connect to it :)

We'll make a post with any new details when we have them :)

I'll setup minecraft.thehavennet.org.uk and will point it at the right ip once I have it. Same deal for terrara.

I've seen some one on the map is that just a bug or something or are you guys testing out the server before you let everyone on?

Hi Guys,

We're down until luc can bring up the server on his machine - once he does that then I'll sort out the dns and you can rejoin. Will post up a notice once this is done. I'll ask luc tomorrow on IRC when he's likely to have chance to do this. I suspect some of my automated scripts may have restarted the old server last night - which is what you're probably seeing.

unknown reason for the current downtime guys. Waiting for luc to appear so we can query as to whats going on atm!

Remember when you say "they", *you* are a minecraft game admin as well according to the banners on your account :p so you're just blaming yourself there trax ;-)

I'd hope that people were trying to connect to it enough to just notice when it reappeared, rather than us having to explicitly notify everyone. Half the time I don't know when its going up / down as its not on my server, and luc isnt contactable 24/7, so we can only pass on information when we know it ourselves.

If we continue to have issues with the current server, then we'll have a look at moving it elsewhere on a more reliable/powerful system/connection. Unfortunately over the next few months, the server isn't going to be amazing since we've had our normal hosting abilities dropped.

You can discuss the matter in the server thread on the main forums to express your views on the latest updates :)
